Columban College - Barretto, Inc. (CCB) officially opened the new academic year on Wednesday, June 25, at the school gymnasium. With the theme “U.N.I.T.E.D. CCB 2025: Unveiling New Beginnings, Nurturing Bonds Anew, Igniting Knowledge and Dreams, Thriving in Togetherness, Exploring Pathways, Dedicated to Excellence,” the event aimed to inspire both students and staff as they embark on another year of learning and growth.

The program began with a prayer to Saint Columban led by Mrs. Loida Cabiara, followed by the Philippine National Anthem conducted by Ms. Mary Merchelle Ong.

Mrs. Lorela Barrera, CCB Basic Education Department principal, gave a warm welcome to all students, teachers, non-teaching staff, and school personnel—emphasizing their importance as members of the CCB community.

Erica Lyn Gates, current president of the Senior High School (SHS) Central Board of Learners (CBL) delivered a symbolic welcoming message, together with former Junior High School (JHS) CBL President Yannie Ibana also sharing a few words of encouragement.

“As you begin this new chapter, I wish you all the very best. May your time at Columban College - Barretto, Inc. be filled with learning, growth, and memories that will last a lifetime,” Gates said.

The program continued with various performances. One of the highlights was a live performance by Kiana Rose Escobar, a Grade 9 student, along with a dance number from Leo Verse, a group from HUMSS 12- St. Leo the Great. For the final performance, the new teachers took the lead and showcased their dance skills.

The celebration set a positive tone for the months ahead, reminding everyone of the power of unity, creativity, and shared dreams within the Columban community.
